We offer guided demonstrations of the Camera Obscura during daylight hours, showing-off the city’s best landmarks! After dark or in poor weather, we deliver a fantastic projection show, uncovering the same magnificent views with footage recorded from the very top of our tower.

We offer discounts for parties of 15 or more - whether you’re a tour group or a school trip. These bookings must be made over the phone and confirmed at least 24 hours in advance.
If you are a nursery and would like to come along with a group of children under 5 years old, please get in touch with us directly to book your visit. Any more than two children under 5 years old accompanied by anyone other than a relative or guardian will be charged our Under-5 Nursery Rate of £10.45 per child.

I have booked twice OR I have booked more tickets than needed
Please email us or call us on 0131 226 3709 as soon as possible so that we can help to manage your booking. We’ll need to see your proof of purchase so that we can arrange a refund accordingly.
Can I buy a ticket on arrival?
Yes, if we have spaces available, you can buy tickets on the day at our front desk. However, we would recommend booking online in advance for guaranteed entry and to avoid disappointment.
I have booked the wrong ticket type, how do I change it?
Please email us or call us on 0131 226 3709 as soon as possible with your booking reference so that we can amend your booking accordingly.
Can I use a discount or voucher?
How do I book a ScotRail Kids Go Free ticket?
You can use a valid Kids for a Quid train ticket to get one free child ticket for every full paying adult.
This offer is valid only for bookings before 11am or after 6pm.
To secure your entry timeslot please book all other tickets in advance through our website here, including any under 5s. Then use the online code 'SCOTRAILKIDS40' to claim.

I have booked the wrong visit date or time. Can I change my booking?
Yes, we are happy to rearrange your booking. Bookings must be rearranged at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to availability. For that reason we request you contact us as soon as possible. If you have contacted us at least 24 hours in advance and there are no suitable time slots available, we will give you a full refund.
Do I need to book in advance with a complimentary ticket?
Yes, pre-booking is required with a complimentary ticket so please contact us in advance so we can reserve you a space.
Complimentary tickets are valid before 11am or after 6pm during weekends and school holidays and valid anytime outside of this. You can see our school holiday schedule here.
We are only able to accept our current complimentary vouchers which are dated and numbered. We regret any previous versions are no longer valid.
If I arrive late, will I still be able to visit?
We request that you make every effort to arrive on time. If you arrive late, where possible we will admit you. If there are no spaces available we will try to admit you later in the day. However this is not guaranteed as on some days we are fully booked.
How do I book my Gift Vouchers?
Visits with Gift Vouchers must be booked in advance to guarantee date and time of entry.
Gift Vouchers that are purchased online can be booked with the unique link that is sent to via email when purchased.

Can I get a carer ticket?
Someone in my group was unwell and couldn’t visit, can I get a refund?
If one person in your group is unable to visit, please let us know as soon as possible. If you know in advance please call us to discuss. If on arrival, please let the team at our admissions desk know at the start of your visit, so we can arrange a refund on that ticket.
I have missed my visit time through factors outwith my control. Can I still visit?
Please contact us to discuss as soon as possible. In most circumstances we need to know 24 hours in advance if you are unable to visit at the time on your booking in order to either give you a new time slot or a refund. Any other outcome is at our absolute discretion.
I’ve changed my plans and want to cancel my visit. Can I receive a refund?
We offer free cancellation up to 24 hours in advance to receive a full refund. Please email or call us on 0131 226 3709 providing proof of purchase, as soon as you know you need to cancel.
Camera Obscura retains absolute discretion as to whether refunds will be given if less than 24 hours notice is given.
I’m unhappy with my visit, how do I request a Money Back Guarantee?
We’re sorry to hear if you were not fully satisfied with your visit. We request you talk to our team at the time of your visit, to share your concerns or let us know what’s happened. We really appreciate constructive criticism to help us improve the visit. Our offer of a Money Back Guarantee only applies to those visitors who have completed a visit of the attraction and who are not fully satisfied with the quality of their visit on the day. If there is any reason that you were not able to speak to us at the time, please email or call us on 0131 226 3709 as soon as possible. Proof of purchase required.
I bought my tickets from a different website, are they valid?
We do not currently work with any 3rd party websites selling our tickets, so please ensure you only buy tickets directly from our website. If you have already purchased tickets from someone else, please contact them for a refund.
I am hard of hearing / have a visual impairment, do you offer a discount?
We offer a 10% discount on your ticket price if you are hard of hearing, deaf or partially sighted.
Please contact us in advance to reserve your tickets or make your requirements known to staff on arrival and they can apply the discount at the front desk.

Can I visit if I have mobility issues?
We are a stairs-only attraction. There are just under 100 steps to reach the top of our building, to experience the Rooftop Terrace and Camera Obscura. A hand rail is available on one side of the stair case only. Seating is available on each floor and walking stick chairs are provided on request.
