Sensory-Friendly Visits Just Got Even Better: Introducing Our New Adult Sensory Backpacks!
At Camera Obscura & World of Illusions, we believe that fun and discovery should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we’re delighted to launch our brand-new adult sensory backpacks, designed to support visitors who benefit from sensory tools during their time with us. These new backpacks are free to borrow and available to anyone who might find them helpful, whether you're visiting solo, with friends, or as part of a family group.
What’s inside our adult sensory backpacks?
Each thoughtfully packed bag includes:
- Fidget spinner: for stress relief and tactile engagement
- Plastic gloves: for those who prefer to interact with exhibits in a more controlled way
- Sunglasses: to reduce light sensitivity in bright areas
- Fidget pop key ring: to keep hands busy and calm the mind
- Torch: for those who like to see clearly in darker spaces
- Sensory headphones: to reduce noise and create a calmer environment
- Sensory map of the building: to help plan your journey through our five fun-filled floors

Next Sensory Sunday: 5 October
We’re also excited to share details of our next Sensory Sunday, taking place on 5 October. On these special mornings, we open our doors early and make gentle adjustments across the attraction to create a more calming experience.
What to expect:
- Reduced sound and lighting
- Fewer visitors for a relaxed atmosphere
- Additional staff on hand to help however we can
- Sensory backpacks available for both adults and children
- Quiet breakout spaces if you need a moment away
