A great starting point is The Royal Mile.It is the main street of the Old Town of Edinburgh which joins Edinburgh Castle at the top of the hill to Holyrood Palace at the bottom. Measuring 1.81km approximately one Scots mile long, the Royal Mile is abundant in beautiful buildings, a diverse mix of shops, restaurants and bars plus numerous visitor attractions.
